Whatever big bad september brings I’m sure it will follow august, july, june and may be wet with the added attraction it will also be dark. Hoorah.
I am already starting to look to some events in the winter and want to get my fitness up. To this end I have a new goal (1) doing some cyclo-cross riding and (2) some running events as well.
I am thinking about tackling this running event- http://www.hellrunner.co.uk/south.cfm but it might be too far to run for a virgin runner. I ultimately want to get into some duathlons but need to get some running training. I would like to aim to complete upto a distance of half a marathon in the year ahead. Reading about my cousin learning from the mistakes of training for the great north run with the wrong trainers I need to do some reasearch into what I need.
On the bike front I am waiting for my rig to appear. As mentioned previously I have identified a london league of cyclo cross I would like to enter, more for the experience rather than podium positions. http://www.londonxleague.co.uk/ I would not envisage doing this each weekend but fortnightly might be interesting.
Add into the mix a relocation back to the UK later this year, most likely October and wanting to keep my training up but may get compromised by time I lose to commuting. Its always good to gauge your thoughts - inward reflection and all that - so I am keenly looking forward to the darker colder months ahead!
