A bit of sunshine is always good to refresh enthusiasm especially in the dark month of February. Having been under the cosh of night on both ends of my working day and completing a move back the UK last year, proper riding has gone to the kerb side.
Well I am back with enthusiasm now and spending my Saturday afternoon watching six nations rugby and planning rides for the coming months.
Tomorrow I am off to do a cyclo-sportive with the South Western Road Club – 100km around the Surrey Hills - a nice way to open the season and increase my knowledge on local routes.
Here are some organised events I plan to do in the coming months:
26-27 April – The tough South Down Way in April mud and grime, should be a great dirty long weekend on the steed. More info >>.
29 June – When the army put on an event in their backyard it is an opportunity to ride on virgin terrain and spin around MoD property without a risk of being chased by tanks! One to definitely try. More info >>
26 July - This is a ride I have seen a couple of times and intended to do some time around, this year it is in the calendar. Challenge = complete the South Dows Way in a day.
27-28 Sept - Back to the rolling South Downs Way for a night ride across the hills to Queen Elizabeth Park. This will be my second outing at this trail breaks event.
